Celebrating the 40^th Anniversary of the dawn of the Kelchner Era in Mountaineer football history.

One of the most successful era’s in modern Mansfield University football history, “A Night with Rod Kelchner” will honor Coach Kelchner and the players and staff who proudly represented the Red & Black during the mid to late 1960s.

The evening promises to be a night of renewing friendships and remembering and honoring the personal and team accomplishments from the Kelchner Era.

Mansfield University welcomes you back to relive those terrific memories on Friday, July 28, 2006.

The evening will consist of three parts. A social hour starts at 6:30 p.m. followed by a buffet dinner and informal program featuring Coach Kelchner and former players.

At the conclusion of the formal program, all former players and staff only will be invited to attend a film “breakdown” session with actual game films from the Kelchner Era. This is a coaches and players session only.

You are also invited to join us on Saturday for a special tour of Karl Van Norman Field and the fieldhouse conducted by head coach Jim Shiffer followed by the 18^th Annual HO-GIG Golf Outing. The HO-GIG was started by former Mountaineer football players from the 1980s with players from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s returning to help raise money for football scholarships.

Coach Kelchner will be playing in the tournament as well. Form your own foursomes or we can also place you in a foursome with other former players.
