Welcome to the online home of Athletic Training at
Mansfield University. Mansfield employs two full time faculty members in the
Athletic Training department - Head Athletic Trainer Laurie Zaparzynski and Assistant
Athletic Trainer Brian Oakes. Zaparzynski and Oakes have become valued members of the
Athletic community at Mansfield, serving all sports year round. Their duties
range from injury rehabilitation all the way down to pre-practice taping. Both
Zaparzynski and Oakes serve as in-game Athletic Trainers for home events and both
travel with Mansfield University Athletics teams when there are no home
conflicts. For more information about Laurie or Brian, view their profiles
under the faculty menu at the left of the page.
Assisting the trainers are three dedicated physicians who
devote extra time to Mansfield Athletics. Dr. Don Shaw, Team Physician, makes
regular visits to the campus to diagnose and treat injuries and concerns to
all athletes. Dr. Craig Stabler works with the Athletic Training staff as the
Orthopedic Consultant. Joining Dr. Stabler is Dr. Patrick Carey, who also
serves as an Orthopedic Consultant.
