FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Nicole Yost and Jen Stein named to All-PSAC Central honors

MANSFIELD – Mansfield University softball standouts Nicole Yost (Antes Fort/Jersey Shore) and Jen Stein (Williamsport/Williamsport) have been named to All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Central Division in voting conducted among the PSAC head coaches and released today.

A junior, Yost repeats as a 1st Team selection as an outfielder while Stein, a senior, earn 2nd Team All-PSAC recognition at utility player.

Yost had an exceptional season at the plate ranking fifth in the conference in batting with a .416 average. Fourteen of her team-best 32 hits were for extra- bases including a team-high seven home runs. She also ranked second in the PSAC with a .779 slugging percentage and was fifth in the conference in on-base percentage (.489). She also tied the  school career  home run record with 18.


Stein posted the fourth highest batting average in school history this past season with a .425 mark, ranking fourth in the PSAC this year. She also finished third in on-base percentage (.500) and was hit-by-a-pitch a conference high six times.

Her 31 hits included seven doubles, a triple and two home runs and she also drove in 23 runs.
