Jim Farrer has
three years coaching both cross country and track and field experience at
Mansfield University. At the University he specializes in middle and
distance runners. In addition, he has coached track and field for 12 years
at North Penn High School and cross country at Mansfield High school for 8
years. Farrer has
coached several athletes to league and district individual titles, state
championship berths, and state medal winning performances.
In 2004 Farrer
was certified by the USA Track & Field Level 1 certification program. In 2006
he received the USATF Level 2 certification in the endurance events and in
2007 he became certified in the jumps.
Farrer received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from
Bucknell University and a Master of Science in Education from Mansfield
University.
In college Farrer ran for legendary coach Art Gulden at
Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA and is a four time letter winner in cross
country and track at the Division 1 level. He experienced 11 team
championships in 13 opportunities in old East Coast Conference & Patriot
League. Farrer was an All-Conference cross country athlete and a multiple
time conference scorer in indoor & outdoor track in middle distance events and
relays. Part of the last BU men’s team to qualify for NCAA champs and an IC4A
participant in cross country and indoor track.
Farrer resides in Mansfield with wife Dr. Amy Farrer (Facility
Director/Physical Therapist @ Phoenix Rehabilitation), daughter Ella, and twin
daughters Addison and Madalyn.
