Amy
Martino has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)
Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week for her outstanding performance for the
Mansfield
University
softball team.
Martino
has been on fire for the Mountaineers. During
the week, she threw a perfect game in a 17-0 win over
Livingstone
College
striking out 14 of 15 batters
she faced. In one inning of relief
in Mansfield’s 10-0 win over Virginia
Union, she struck out all three batters in the inning.
At the
plate, she went 1-3 with one RBI and one run scored against Livingstone
College.
For the
season, Martino is 4-0 with a 0.84 ERA.
In 21.1 innings this season, she has struck out 47 batters, while only walking six and only allowing
two earned runs and eight hits.
Mansfield
is currently on an 11 game
winning streak with a 13-1 record. They
have outscored their opponents 144-7, while shutting out ten teams.
Mansfield
will begin their PSAC East
schedule traveling to
East
Stroudsburg
University
Friday March 25th
for a 2:00
double-header.
