FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: SOFTBALL IMPROVES TO 9-1 WITH SWEEP OVER ST. AUGUSTINE

RALEIGH, NC – Kristen Dean threw a one-hitter in the opener and Christine Ross a two-hitter in the nightcap to lead Mansfield to a 17-0, 11-1 sweep over St. Augustine College at Oakwood Park in Raleigh, NC Saturday afternoon.

Dean improved to 4-1 on the season striking out five while Heather Long went 4-4 in the opener with two RBI. Nancy Quinn was 3-4 with two doubles and three RBI as the Mountaineers pounded out 13 hits.

Ross recorded her first win of the season in the nightcap, scattering two singles while striking out six. Heather Long went 2-4 with a double and RBI while Amy Martino doubled and drove in three runs.

Mansfield finishes its southern swing with a 9-1 record.
