FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES SUFFER SWEEP AT BLOOMSBURG

BLOOMSBURG – The Mansfield University softball team suffered a 10-0, 4-1 sweep at the hands of Bloomsburg University Saturday afternoon at Hutchinson Field.

The Mountaineers could do little right in the opener getting just two hits off the Huskies Amanda Smith.

In the nightcap, the Mountaineers pounded out eight hits, including a home run by Sytiva Seitz and two doubles by Heather Long. Mansfield tied the score at 1-1 on Seitz home run in the top of the fifth, but Bloomsburg scored three runs in the bottom of the inning to win the game.

The Mountaineers fall to 18-7-1 overall and 5-6-1 in the PSAC East. They host Kutztown in a doubleheader at Helen Lutes Field on Sunday.
