FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD RALLIES PAST HORSHEADS IN JOEL STEPENS OPENER –

MANSFIELD – Cody Garrison’s two run single proved to be the margin of victory as Mansfield rallied with four runs in the top of the sixth inning to beat Horsheads 6-4 in the opening game of the Seventh Annual Joel Stephens Invitational Tournament Thursday night at Kelly Field in Smythe Park.

Horseheads scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning to open the scoring with Rejean Archambeault driving in two runs with a bases loaded double.

Mansfield got on the board in the top of the fourth when Josh Hammer doubled with one out and scored on a single by Kevin Hill. Mansfield would close the gap to 3-2 in the top on the fifth when Garrett Pollack led off with a single and later scored on a grounder by Adam Breon.

In the sixth, Mansfield loaded the bases with one out before Garrett Pollack singled in two runs for a 4-3 lead and added two more on Garrison’s single.
