FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: WELM-AM TO BROADCAST SEVEN JOEL STEPHENS INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT GAMES
MANSFIELD – WELM-AM 1410 in Elmira will broadcast seven games from the sixth annual Joel Stephens Invitational Tournament, hosted by Mansfield University, which will take place Friday, July 2 through Monday, July 5.
This will mark the sixth year the station has provided radio coverage of the tournament. WELM Sports Director Bob Michaels will once again do play-by-play for the games.
The games scheduled to be aired are:
Friday, 6 p.m.: Corning Gray vs. Bradford County
Saturday, 9 a.m.: Elmira Heights vs. Moscow
11:30 a.m.: Bath vs. Owego
3 p.m.: Elmira Heights vs. Lamm Post
Sunday, 3 p.m.: Horseheads vs. Hollidaysburg
6 p.m.: Lamm Post vs. Ontario Maple Leafs
Monday, 3 p.m.: Joel Stephens Championship Game
Founded in 1998 to honor the memory of Joel Stephens and other players from the Twin Tiers, the tournament has developed into one of the top senior level tournaments in the Northeast.
