The Mansfield football community was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of James "Jimmy" Yarosh.

Yarosh, who was on campus just last week with his wife Juliana for a Night With Rod Kelchner and the 18th Annual Ho-GIG Golf outing, played under Bernie Sabol in the 1970s.

After leaving Mansfield, Yarosh went on to become an agent with the Secret Service assigned to President Ronald Reagan and most recently oversaw 300 agents whose job was to provide protection for visiting heads of state.

Jimmy had a fierce pride in Mansfield University and was extremely loyal to the Mountaineer football program. He and Juliana talked with everyone as they drove the beverage cart during last week's golf tournament where he looked the picture of health. Jimmy passed away one week later.

Mountaineer football extends its deepest sympathy to his wife Julie and his family.

Jimmy, you will always be a Mountaineer.

He was an avid sports fan, played college football for Mansfield State (1976 to 1978), and continued to participate in personal fitness through weightlifting and softball tournaments.
