CUMMINGS,
HALL, LEARN, AND WOOTEN EARN ALL REGIONAL HONORS
Lock Haven- Chris Cummings, Rachel Hall, Charity Learn and Josh Wooten all
finished in the top 15 at the Division II East regional Championships Saturday
afternoon to earn All Regional Honors.
Charity
Learn (Troy) and Rachel Hall
(Blue Ridge/New Milford) finished seconds apart at the Division II East
Regional Championships Saturday afternoon.
Learn finished 7th overall with a time of 22.23 and Hall followed
with an 8th overall finish with a time of
22:30. Hall becomes the second woman in school history to earn regional honors.
Last season, Learn was the first ever in school history to earn regional
honors.
Finishing next for
Mansfield
was Kristin Weller (
New
Milford
,
CT
) with a time of 24:30 followed by Ashley Tierney (Hadstead/BlueRidge)
with a time of 24:32. Rounding out
for Mansfield
was Amanda
Kendrick (Tioga) who finished 83rd overall with a time of
25:00, then Jenna Phillips (
Canandaigua
NY
) who had a time of 25:32 and finally Theresa Stanford (Downington/Coatesville)
finished with a time of 25:54. Overall the women finished 8th which
is the teams best finish ever, ahead
of five PSAC teams (Slippery Rock, Millersville, Lock Haven, West Chester
and California
(Pa).
"The
team peaked perfectly, said Coach Mike Rohl on both the men and women's
performance. "We just keep getting better and better."
Over on the men’s side, Josh
Wooten (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) was the first to cross with a time
of 32:23 and a 10th overall finish. Chris Cummings
(Mansfield/Mansfield) followed shortly after for an 11th
overall finish with a time of 32:31.
Cummings and Wooten become the first men in school history
to earn All Regional Honors.
The
next to finish for Mansfield
was Richard
Correll (Mansfield/Mansfield) who finished 82nd overall with
a time of 34:54. Next was Ben
Israel (Mansfield/Mansfield) who finished with a time of 35:19.
Rounding out for Mansfield
was Mark
Daniels (Harrisburg/Harrisburg) who finished with a time of 35:50,
shortly followed by Alex Bond (Kane/Kane) with a time of 37:19. Jon
Holtz (
Shortsville
,
NY
/
ManchesterShortsville finished with a time of 38.57. Overall the men finished 11th which is the best finish ever, ahead of five PSAC schools
