FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: STEPH CALDWELL SETS NEW 400 METER
MARK AS MOUNTIES FINISH SECOND IN PSAC TRI-MEET
SLIPPERY ROCK – Stephanie Caldwell (Little Falls,NY/Little
Falls) broke the school record for the 400 meters and Nate Reider
(York/Dallastown) was a provisional qualifier in the javelin as the
Mansfield University men’s and women’s track and field teams finished second
in a PSAC tri-meet with California and Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon at Kerr
Stadium.
Caldwell finished first in the 400 with a record setting
time of 1:00.34 while Reider won the javelin with a toss of 195-7.
Josh Wooten was a dual winner, finishing first
in the 1500 (4:06.98) and 5000 (15:54.41) meters.
Charity Learn, who set a new school record in the 5000
meters with a time of 18:01.05 at Bucknell on Friday night, won the 1500 meters
at Slippery Rock with a time of 5:03.51. Jeremy Bochert (10:40.74)
and Ashley Tierney (13:32.71) won the men’s and women’s
steeplechases.
Mansfield finished second in the men’s competition with 110
points to Slippery Rock’s 151. The Mountaineers were also second on the
women’s side with 69 points to Slippery Rocks 176.
