RELEASE DATE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CHRIS CUMMINGS SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD IN MILE RUN AT PSAC EAST CHALLENGE -- STEP CADWELL BREAKS SCHOOL TRIPLE JUMP MARK KUTZTOWN, PA -- Freshman Chris Cummings (Mansfield/Mansfield) took first in the mile run, shattering the school record at the PSAC East Challenge Saturday at Kutztown University. Cummings broke the tape almost five second faster than his nearest competitor with a time of 4:22.91. He shattered the mark of 4:25.58 set by Josh Wooten set in 2003. Wooten finished fifth in the the mile at the PSAC East Challenge with a time of 4:33.80. Steph Cadwell broke the school record in the triple jump with a distance of 34-11.75. She also finished third in the 500 meters with a time of 1:21.44. Also setting a new school mark was Meg Kerr with a vault of 9-01 in the pole vault. Mansfield finished seventh in both the men's and women's competition.
