FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CHARITY LEARN BREAKS 1500 RECORD AT
MUHLENBURG INVITATIONAL NATE RIEDER FIRST IN JAVELIN WOOTEN WINS
STEEPLECHASE
ALLENTOWN Charity Learn (Troy/North Penn)
shattered the 1500 meter school record while Nate Rieder (York/Dallastown)
won the javelin and Josh Wooten (Henrietta,NY/Rush-Henreitta) to
lead Mansfield University in its
first outdoor meet of the season at the Muhlenburg Invitational Saturday
afternoon.
Learn finished second in the 1500, with a record setting time
of 4:49.91 and was also part of the school record 8 x 800 relay team of Stephanie
Caldwell, Sarah Moore, and Theresa Stanford
which finished third with a school record time of 10:10.59.
Caldwell was third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:22.95
just shy of the school record. Kathy Schooch also placed for
the Mountaineers, finishing third in the long jump with a 16-03.25 effort.
Rieder won the javelin with a toss of
184-04 while Bryan Taylor was second at 166-02. Rieder also
finished third in the discus with a toss of 132-03.
Wooten crushed the 11 man field in the stepplechase with a time of 9:41.24 more than 35 seconds faster than his nearest competitor.
