FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CHARITY LEARN NAMED PSAC FEMALE
RUNNER OF WEEK – FRESHMAN ONLY RUNNER IN CONFERENCE TO QUALIFY IN 800, 1500,
3000, 5000, 10,000 AND STEEPLECHASE
MANSFIELD – Mansfield University freshman Charity
Learn (Troy/North Penn) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) Women’s Runner of the Week for her outstanding performance
in the LHU Qualifier last Saturday.
Learn broke the school record, and was a provisional NCAA
qualifier, in winning the 3K steeplechase at the LHU Qualifier with a time of
11:20.77. Her finish was 29 seconds better than her nearest competitor and
is the second best in the conference this year. It was also the first time
Learn ran the steeplechase.
Learn is the only runner in the PSAC to qualify for the
conference championships in the 800, 1500, 3000, 5000, 10,000 and steeplechase.
She will concentrate only on the steeplechase at the PSAC
Championships this weekend.
