RELEASE DATE: 4/20/04 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CUMMINGS AND WOOTEN QUALIFY FOR 1,500 AT ITHACA COLLEGE QUAD MEET – RICH CORRELL WINS 10,000 ITHACA,NY – Josh Wooten won the 1,500, Rich Correll took first in the 10,000 and Jeremy Confer won the javelin at the Ithaca College Quad-Meet Tuesday afternoon with a throw of 57.27ft. Wooten also posted a PSAC qualifying time of 3:59.10 as he outkicked to competition to win the 1,500. Teammate Chris Cummings was second in the race, and also qualified for the PSAC Championship with a time of 4:00.54. Correll won first collegiate race with a time of 33:40.00 in the 10,000 meters followed by teammates Lucas Walker (34:53.78) and Benjamin Israel (35:31.20). Confer easily won the javelin with a toss of 51.27 meters while Bryan Taylor finished fourth at 46.95 meters. Keith Drummond was second in the 200 and 400 meters with personal best times of 23.43 and 51.43 respectively. Chad Woodruff was fourth in the 400 meters (59.26). On the women’s side, Rachel Hall, Charity Learn, and Erin Brunelle finshed second, third and fourth in the 10,000 meters with times of 40:00.99, 40:41.88 and 41:54.14 respectively. Megan Kerr was third in the pole vault at 2.90 meters. |
