FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTAINEER WOMEN WIN DICKENSON HOLIDAY MEET – MEN FINISH SECOND

CARLISLE, PA – The Mansfield University women’s indoor track and field team finished first out of eight teams while the men’s squad was second out of nine teams at the Dickson College Holiday Meet at the Kline Center.

The women recorded 125 points with Shippensburg finishing second at 113. The men scored 128 points, 10 points behind Dickinson.

“This is really a milestone for the women’s program,” said head coach Mike Rohl. “Altogether we hit 38 personal of season best and set three new school records.”

Amber Hamlin won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.29 and set a new school record in the 300 meter dash with a second place finish of 45.36. The women also set new school records in the 4 x 200 and 4 x 100 relays.

Finishing second for the Mountaineers were Step Cadwell in the 200 meters (28.41) and 800 meters (2:26.34), Robyn Ireland in the 1000 meters (3:31.07), Ashley Tierney in the 1500 (5:21.11) and Charity Learn in the 3000 meters (10:40.10).

For the men, Mark Daniels won the 1500 meters with a time of 4:19.83 with Chris Cummings finishing first in the 3000 meters (8:51.65). Matt Hoppe was first in the pole vault with a vault of 4.12 meters.

Finishing second was Noal Bastian in the 55 meter hurdles (8.31), and Keith Drummond in the 400 meters (53.55).
