FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: JOSH WOOTEN FINISHES 14^th IN THE 3000 METER STEEPLECHASE AT THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Mansfield- Josh Wooten (Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) has a lot of ‘firsts’ under his belt during his three years at Mansfield University .

On Thursday he added another ‘first’ to the list competing in the 2004 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Cal Poly Pomona Mt. SAC in California becoming the first Mountaineer to compete in the NCAA Championships.

Wooten finished 14^th overall in the 3000 meter steeplechase event with a time of 9:28.07.

Wooten qualified for the NCAA Championships when he finished second at the PSAC championships in the 3000 meter steeplechase finishing with a time of 9:13.85.  Wooten also earned All-PSAC honors.
