LAUREN OLIVIERI WIN 10K JUNIOR NATIONAL RACEWALKING INVITATIONAL – EARN TRIP
TO USA TRACK AND FIELD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
ARLINGTON, VA – Mansfield University freshmen Adam
Staier (Farmington, ME/Mt. Blue) and Lauren Olivieri (Hauppauge,NY/Hauppauge)
each took first place in the men’s and women’s divisions at the National
Junior 10 K Racewalking Invitational in Arlington, VA Sunday afternoon.
Staier crossed the finish line at the head of the pack with a
winning time of 46:34. His performance earned him a berth in the USATF Junior 10
K National Championship at Stanford University on June 20, 2002.
Olivieri posted a winning time of 55:51, also earning a berth
in the USATF Junior 10 K National Championship. MU junior Sarah MacIntyre
(Lima,NY/Honeoye Falls-Lima) was third in the Junior women’s division
with a time of 61:24.
The USATF Junior Division is for all track and field
performers age 20 and under.
