FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CHARITY LEARN SHATTER STEEPLECHASE RECORD – ONLY RUNNER IN PSAC TO QUALIFY IN 800, 1500, 3000, 5000, 10,000 AND STEEPLECHASE

LOCK HAVEN – Freshman Charity Learn (Troy/North Penn) shattered the school record with a first place finish in the steeplechase at the Lock Haven University Qualifier Saturday afternoon.

Learn topped the field in her first ever steeplechase with a time of 11:20.77 – more than 29 seconds faster than her nearest competitor – in shattering the school record of 13:15.41 set by Amanda Kendrick in 2002. It was also a NCAA Provisional qualifying time.

Learn is the only runner in the PSAC to qualify for the PSAC Championship in the 800, 1500, 3000, 5000, 10,000 and steeplechase.

Josh Wooten qualified for the PSAC Championship with a first place finish in the men’s steeplechase. Wooten finished with a time of 9:27.06 – just .05 off the school record of 9:27:01 set by Larry Printz in 1981.
