TWO SILVER MEDALS AT THE KEYSTONE
STATE GAMES
MANSFIELD- In his first decathlon Adam
Keir (Warren Center/North
East
Bradford
)
took home the silver medal at the Keystone State Games in
Wilkes-Barre
this past weekend.
Keir finished second overall with a total of 5,109 points, behind Clarion’s
Don Patten who finished with 6,100 points.
Incoming freshman Derek Weis also captured a silver medal by finishing second in
the half with a time of 205.69 in the 17-18 year old age group.
The Mountaineers had three top four finishers in the cross country event.
Charity
Learn (Troy/Home schooled) finished first overall for the women with a
personal best time of
17:55
and Rachel Hall (Blue Ridge/New Milford)
finished fourth overall with a time of
18:57
.
On the men’s side, Ben Israel finished fourth overall with a time of
17:14
.
In the men’s 5K race, Richard Correll (Mansfield/Mansfield) placed first with a
personal best time of
16:58
.
Correll also took second place in the men’s 1,500 finishing with a time
of 4:28.2.
In the 19-21 age group, Mike Yannick (Throop/Mid-Valley) finished the 110 hurdles with a
time of 16:74.
The Mountaineers had the top three finishers in the women’s 1,500 event age
group 19-21. Learn (4:58.1), Hall
(5:08.5) and Robyn
Ireland (Cogan Station) (5:38.3) finished in the top three respectively.
