Release Date- 4/10/04 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD HAS EIGHT INDIVIDUALS QUALIFY FOR PSAC’S INDIANA (Pa)-Mansfield University had eight athletes qualify for PSAC’s after Saturday afternoons meet at Indiana Univeristy of Pa. On the women’s side Charity Learn (Troy) and Rachel Hall (Jackson) both qualified for the PSAC’s. Learn finished seventh overall in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:38.50 and Hall finished fourth overall in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:39.6. Robyn Ireland (Cogan Station) finished sixth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 20:23.42. In the 10,000 meter run Jenna Philips (Canandaigua, N.Y.) finished fifth overall with a time of 42:31.50. With a time of 13:30.70, Ashley Tierney (Hallstead, Blue Ridge) finished sixth overall in the 3,000 yard steeplechase. In the pole vault event Meghan Kerr (Canandaigua, N.Y.) finished seventh overall qualifying for PSAC’s. Overall the women finished sixth with 19 points. Over on the men’s side Josh Wooten (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) qualified for the PSAC’s finishing first overall in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 15:22.96. Also qualifying for the PSAC’s was Chris Cummings (Mansfield/Mansfield) who also had a first place finish in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 33:04.26. Mansfield also had Jaymes Crain (Canton/Canton) qualify for the PSAC’s. Crain finished third overall in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.19. He also took part in the 200 meter dash finishing sixth overall with a time of 22.81. In the 400 meter dash Mansfield’s Keith Drummond (Philadelphia,/Cardinal Dougherty), Jordann Smith (Roslyn/Abington Sr) and Adam Keir (Warren Center/Northeast Bradford) all scored for the Mountaineers. Drummond finished sixth with a time of 52.21, Smith finished eighth with a time of 53.11 and Keir finished twelfth with a time of 54.74) Jon Holtz (Shortsville,NY/Manchester-Shortsville) finished 13th overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:05.86. In the 110 meter hurdles event Chad Woodruff (Waverly,NY/Waverly) qualified for the PSAC’s finishing with a time of 15.99. Also qualifying for the PSAC’s is Jeremy Confer (Danville) who finished third in the Javelin throw with a distance of 198-07.00. The four by 400 meter relay team of Drummond, Smith, Keir and Matt Hoppe (Alamogordo, NM) finished fourth overall with a time of 3:31.23 qualifying for the PSAC’s. Overall the men finished fifth with 58.5 points. |
