AND FIELD/CROSS COUNTRY RECRUITING CLASS IS LARGEST IN SCHOOL HISTORY
MANSFIELD- Mansfield University Head Cross
Country/Track & Field coach, Michael Rohl recently announced his 2003-04
cross-country / track and field recruiting class. Coach Rohl has dubbed this year’s class as the largest and
one of the most talented in school history.
“There are a large number of athletes coming in this fall, and quite a
few that should make big impacts immediately,” says Rohl.
The Mountaineer cross country/track and field team is coming
off one of the most successful years in school history.
Both the men’s and women’s teams had record numbers of athletes
qualify for the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Championships, and
freshman sensation Charity Learn (Tioga/Home-schooled) capped off her freshman
season with a trip to the NCAA D-II National meet.
These athletes are expected to continue the improving ways of the
program.
This year’s class is headed by the signing of Mansfield
High School’s Chris Cummings. Cummings
brings a third place finish at the PA State Championships in the 1600 m run to
Mansfield. His personal best of
4:18 in the 1600 is the best ever of an incoming freshman at Mansfield.
He’ll add immediate depth to the distance corps of this falls team.

Women’s Class of 2003-2004
Nicole Dann- Lucan, OT/Medway High School,
posts a 2:22 in the 800 meter run, comes from an experienced club program, is
expected to make a big impact
Holy Fields- Upper Dublen High School
Rachel Hall- Susquehanna, PA/Blue Ridge High
School, reached the PA state finals in the 3200m run, personal best of 11:33 in
3200m
Jacklynn Hannold- Sligo, PA/Clarion High School
Robyn Ireland- Cogan Station, PA/Jersey Shore
High School
Allison Kilgore- Enola, PA/East Pennsboro High
School
Meghan Kerr- Canadaigua, NY/Canadaigua
Academy, Kerr is a strong athlete that will be versatile in many events, a
pole-vaulter and sprinter, can also compete in the pentathlon and heptathlon
