FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Mike Gray named PSAC Male Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

MANSFIELD – Mansfield University shot put standout Mike Gray (Elmira,NY/Horseheads) has been the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Male Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance at two meets this past weekend.

Gray, a junior, had an impressive weekend as he won both shot put events at the Southern Tier Collegiate Invitational at Cornell and the Gulden Relays at Bucknell. 

Gray, an All-American in shot put last year, broke his own school record with a toss of 52-09.25 Friday evening at Cornell.  The throw was long enough to capture first place as well as a NCAA provisional qualifying mark.  He also took third place in the weight throw with a toss of 51-10.5. 

On Saturday, Gray followed up with another first place at Bucknell in the shot put, where he threw a 52-3.25.
