9/29/07 Immediate Release: Mansfield’s Chris Cummings wins Don Cathcart Invitational in Salisbury Salisbury, MD – Senior Chris Cummings took first place in the men’s competition to lead the Mansfield University men’s cross-country to a second place team finish at Don Cathcart Invitational in Salisbury, MD Saturday afternoon. Freshman Brenae Edwards finished 11th overall to help the women to a sixth place finish. The men received 60 points while the meet winner Mount Union finished with 33. Senior Chris Cummings won the 8k race with a time of 24:51. Senior Josh Wooten was close behind in fifth place with a time of 25:38 with fellow senior Dave Sanford in 17th with a time of 26:19. Freshman Chris Bogenschutz came in 18th finishing just five seconds behind Sanford. Joe Stanek finished in 24th with a time of 26:46 while John-Mark Stoltz finished two seconds behind Stanek in 26th. Duke Opdyke came in 31st with a time of 26:55. The women finished with 113 team points. The meet winner Towson University finished with 40 points. The women were led by freshman Brenae Edwards who came in 11th with a time of 22:53. Clarissa Correll was close behind in 15th with a time of 23:13. Jess Wagner finished in 23rd with a time of 23:37. Freshman Irene Primmer was 33rd with a time of 24:08 and Sarah Pinkowski finished five seconds behind her in 36th. Tricia Learn finished in 53rd with a time of 24:55 and Christyna Cain came in 59th with a time of 25:13.
