FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Gray and Brumfield Earn All-PSAC Honors

MANSFIELD Mountaineer freshman Mike Gray started things off on the right foot for Mansfield at the PSAC Championships placing second in the discus and earning All-PSAC honors. Katrina Brumfield also earned All-Conference on the Mounties first day of competition at the championships hosted by Shippensburg University.

The freshman phenom entered the competition with the top seed and led the entire competition until the final round of throws when a freshman from Shippensburg threw a career best to just knock him off the top spot.

Gray finished second with a toss of 159'5", his second longest throw this season. Gray is not finished yet as he will be back tomorrow to compete in the shot put, an event he also has a chance to be All-PSAC in.

Junior Katrina Brumfield earned All-PSAC honors for the Mountaineers for the second time in her career. Brumfield finished fourth in the high jump with her best performance of the outdoor season with a clearance of 5'4".

Amanda Fedish competed in the 100 prelims and ran a season best 12.54 seconds but failed to advance to the finals.

The Mountaineers are back in action all day tomorrow with the finals of all events being decided. Check back tomorrow afternoon for final championship results.
