FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Bryan Morseman Win 5000 – Chris Cummings 800 at PSAC Challenge

LOCK HAVEN – Bryan Morseman won the 5000 meter run and Chris Cummings took first place in the 800 meters to highlight a strong effort by the Mansfield University track and field team at the PSAC East Challenge at Lock Haven University Saturday afternoon.

Morseman ran the fastest 5000 meters of his career passing Bloomsburg’s Justin Shepherd with 200 meters to go and hold on to cross the tape with a winning time of 15:19.64.

Despite challenging conditions Cummings out kicked Millersville’s Adam Malloy over the final 75 meters to win the 800 in a PSAC qualifying time of 1:55.72.

Jeremy Confer was third in the javelin with a toss of 183-02.

Freshman Bryan Falcone also placed for the men finishing seventh in the 400 with a time of 52.70.

Freshman Jess Lown led the women with a second place finish in the 100 hurdles with a PSAC qualifying time of 16.31 and took third in the 400 meter hurdles with a PSAC qualifying time of 1:07.83.

Katrina Brumfield was second in the high jump with a leap of 5-01.

Charity (Learn) Walker, Rachel Hall and Nicole Dann also run PSAC qualifying times in the 3000 with Walker finishing third (10:27.00), Hall fifth (10:44.15) and Dann sixth (10:46.08).

Marisa Fronczkiewicz was fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:02.27.
