Mounties Have Successful Outing at Bison Outdoor Classic Post PSAC Qualifying Time In Nine Events LEWISBURG – The Mansfield University men’s and women’s track and field teams had a very successful outing at the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg last weekend earning PSAC qualifying times in 10 different events. Chris Cummings was the most success of all shattering the school record and posting the third fastest time in NCAA Division II this season winning the 1500 meters in the stunning time of 3:47.27 qualifying him for the national championship. He bested a field of 78 runners. Charity (Learn) Walker finished fourth in the 10,000 with a time of 37:28.15 to qualify for the PSAC Championship. It is also the 12th fastest time in Division II this season. Amanda Fedish is working her way back into form finishing 7th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.63. Fedish also qualified for the PSAC Championship in the 200 meters with a time of 26.60. Teammate Katrina Brumfield also earned a spot in the PSAC Championship with a time of 26.61. Freshman Jessica Lown qualified with a school record time of 15.73 in the 100 hurdles and finished 11th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.83. Rachel Hall set a new school record in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:54.05 to qualify for the PSAC Championships. Nicole Dann finished 19th overall in the 1500 meter with a qualifying time of 4:42.25. The women’s 4 x 100 relay team of Katrina Brumfield, Jessica Lown, Amanda Fedish and Marisa Fronczkiewicz also qualified for the conference championship with a third place time of 50.52. The 4 x 800 women’s relay team of Nicole Dann, Heather Wida, Tricia Learn and Jessica Lown finished third overall with a time of 10:10.37 On the men’s side, Bryan Morseman qualified for the PSAC Championship in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:08.92. It was the second fastest time in school history. Doug DeBenedetto and Bryan Falcone ran well in the 400 finishing with times of 51:57 and 51.59 respectively. The men’s 4 x 800 team of Chris Cummings, Jon Holtz, Matt Zimmerman and Zeb Dunn also qualified with a time of 8:12.11. Jeremy Confer was eighth in the javelin with a toss of 171-03.
