RELEASE DATE: 1/29/04 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CHARITY LEARN SETS SCHOOL RECORD AND QUALIFIES FOR NCAA DIVISION II INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIP IN 5000 – CHRIS CUMMINGS SETS NEW SCHOOL RECORD AT PENN STATE NATIONAL INVITATIONAL STATE COLLEGE – Charity Learn qualified for the NCAA Division II National Indoor Championship in the 5000 meters and Chris Cummings set a new school record in the men’s 5000 at the Penn State National Invitational at Penn State. Learn finished 9th in a field of 25 including 23 Division I runners with a school record time of 17:35.59, shattering her personal best by a remarkable 30 seconds. Her time qualified her for the NCAA Division II National Indoor Championship in Boston in March. Cummings finished 18th in a field of 34, including 32 Division I runners. His time of 14:56.92, shattering his own school record of 5:12.55 set last year.
