Cummings each placed in two individual events at the final day of the
PSAC Indoor Championship at East Stroudsburg Kohler Fieldhouse Sunday. Learn took fourth place in
both the mile run (5:13.44) and 3,000 meters (10:25.04) while Cummings was
fourth in the mile run (4:15.26) and fifth in the
3,000 (8:46.73). The mile run, in which
Cummings was the defending Champion, proved to be one of the highlight races of
the meet with the top four runners each provisionally qualifying for the NCAA
Indoor Championship. All four also beat Cummings last year’s PSAC Championship
record time of 4:17.46. The women’s 4x400 relay
team of freshmen Amanda Fedish, Katrina Brumfield, Marisa
Lucero and senior Steph Cadwell finished third in a school
record time of 4:06.44 to earn All-PSAC recognition. Brumfield also earn team
points in the high jump with a fifth place tying jump of 5-00.75. Fedish just missed placing
in the 200 meter dash with a seventh place time of 27.10. Lucero was eighth in
the 55 meters with a time of 7.55. The women finished ninth in
the team standings with 31 points. The men’s 4x800 relay
team of Solomon Isom, Jon Holtz, Derek Weiss
and Rich Correll earned team points with a sixth place time of
8:07.84 while the 4x400 team of Keith Drummond, Isom, Mike
Yannick and Doug DeBenedetto set a school record with a
time of 3:29.68. Drummond was also seventh in the 400 with a time of 51.10. The men finished 11th overall in the team standings with seven points. |
