RELEASE DATE: 2/15/05 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CHRIS CUMMINGS NAMED PSAC MALE INDOOR RUNNER OF THE WEEK – SOPHOMORE SETS THREE SCHOOL RECORDS IN REMARKABLE WEEKEND MANSFIELD – Chris Cummings (Mansfield/Mansfield) has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Male Indoor Runner of the Week for his record setting performance this past weekend. Cummings completed a busy weekend with three first-place finishes and three school records. Saturday Cummings won the 1,000 meters at the PSAC East Challenge in Kutztown with a time of 2:32.59, setting the first of his school records during the weekend. On Sunday, the sophomore departed for New York City where he won the mile at the Collegiate Track Championship (CTC) at the Armory in a time of 4:22.75. Just an hour and a half later, Cummings set a school record in the 3,000m, winning the event in 8:41.87. Thirty minutes later, he also paired up with teammates in the 4x800 relay to set a new Mansfield standard of 8:05.94. |
