FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTAINEER  TRACK AND FIELD COACH MIKE ROHL NAMED HEAD COACH OF USA JUNIOR NATIONAL RACE WALKING TEAM FOR THIS WEEKEND’S USA – CANADA DUAL MEET

MANSFIELD – Mansfield University head track and field coach Mike Rohl has been named the head coach of the U.S. men’s and women’s Junior National Race Walking team for this weekend’s U.S. – Canadian Dual meet at Hauppange, NY on Long Island.

The U.S. Junior National Racewalking team is comprised of the top race walkers in the nation under the age of 19.

Rohl was a four-time All-American race walker in college and is a nine-time member of the U.S. National Team. He just missed out on Olympic berths in 1996 and 2000 when he finished fourth in U.S. Olympic Trials. His wife, and Mountaineer assistant coach, Michelle currently holds four national US Race Walking records and was part of the U.S. Olympic Team at the 1992, 1996 and 2000 Olympics.
