FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: PSAC CROWNS FOUR CHAMPIONS DURING MORNING EVENTS

MANSFIELD- The PSAC crowned four champions during the morning events at the Track and Field Championships on the Robert T. Maxson Track. 

Lock Haven’s Angela Kramer set a new PSAC Championship meet record and helped her team move into first place winning the pole vault with a vault of 3.58m.   

Also in the pole vault, IUP’s Jessica Moyer took second place (3.42), Slippery Rock’s Abby McKissick took third place (3.42), Jen Butler of West Chester and Stacey Wilcher of Shippensburg tied for fourth place with a vault of (3.27), and Stephanie Sukal of Kutztown University finished in sixth place (3.27)

Monica Speca of Shippensburg set a new Robert T. Maxson Track Record by winning the high jump with a jump of 1.62m. 

Katrina Brumfield of Mansfield took second place (1.62), Becky Bullard came in third (1.62), Sara McClearly finished fourth (1.57), Lahnor Ridley took fifth (1.57) and Slippery Rock’s Louise O’Rourke finished sixth with a jump of (1.57). 

Vanessa Andes of East Stroudsburg University won the 10,000 meter run with a time of 37:00.85. 

Holly Whoolery of Slippery Rock finished second (37:53.54), Stephanie Williams of Kutztown took third (38:16.56), finishing fourth and fifth were Lock Haven’s Sarah Robertson (38:20.07) and Holly Bofinger (38:28.19), and Shippensburg’s Lindsey Govern finished sixth with a time of 38:58.63. 

On the men’s side, Shippensburg’s Daniel Helfrick set a new Robert T. Maxson Track record and took first place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 30:49.29. 

Coming in second was IUP’s Jorge Medina with a time of 31:00.67.  Justin Shepherd of Bloomsburg took third (31:06.02), Aaron Benson of Lock Haven finished fourth (31:20.52), IUP’s A.J. Kelly took fifth (31:36.70) and Neal Kerrigan of Millersville finished sixth with a time of 31:39.99.
