FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES DROP 1-0 DECISION TO EAST STROUDSBURG IN WOMEN’S SOCCER

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University women’s soccer team could never get its offense untracked in suffering a 1-0 setback to East Stroudsburg Tuesday afternoon.

The Mountaineer defense allowed just a single goal by Linda Hicks with 14:18 remaining in the first half.

East Stroudsburg held a 19-3 shot advantage and 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Freshman goalie Nicole Rodweller (Easton/Easton) had 13 saves while ESU’s Lindsey Vandergrift had two saves in recording the shutout.

Mansfield falls to 3-8-2 overall and 2-7 in the PSAC. East Stroudsburg is now5-7-2 and 2-5-2 in conference play.
