FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES FALL TO NATIONALLY RANKED UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON 3-0 IN WOMEN’S SOCCER

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University women’s soccer team struggled to maintain an offensive threat in fall to nationally ranked University of Scranton 3-0 Wednesday afternoon at Myers Field.

Scranton took a 1-0 halftime when Jennifer Smith lifted a ball over the head of goalie Julie Miller. The Royals increased their lead to 2-0 less than two minutes into the second half on an unassisted goal by Sara Suchoski and scored the game’s final goal with less than two minutes to play.

Scranton (6-0-1) held a 17-3 advantage in shot on goal.

Julie Miller recorded nine saves in goal for Mansfield.

Mansfield falls to 1-3-1 overall and host Shippensburg on Saturday.
