Mansfield
University
women’s soccer falls short 3-0 against Kutztown
University. The Golden Bears of Kutztown have
clinched a playoff berth. Mansfield's record is now 4-9-2, 2-8-0.
Today was senior day at Myers Field, and prior to the start
of the game senior Val Shaw(Harrisburg/Hollidaysburg) was honored. Shaw currently leads the Mansfield
University soccer team in assists with two on the season. Shaw has played in all fifteen of the Mounties’ games this season.
Kutztown shot the ball a total of 21 times. The Golden Bears fired fourteen shots in the first period. In the second period, Mounties cut that number in half the second period
only allowing Kutztown to shoot the ball seven times.
Mansfield
goalie, Julie Miller (Watkins Glen, NY/Watkins Glen), stopped the
ball 13 times.
This game marked the last home game of the season for the Mounties.
The last regular season game for
the Mountaineers is Saturday, November 1st when they travel to West Chester
University
for a
12:30pm
game.
