FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S SOCCER SHUTS OUT BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE 2-0

MANSFIELD – At Myers Field, Mansfield University women’s soccer shuts out Bloomfield College 2-0 in non-conference action.

Sophomore Jamie Heller (Canton/Troy) scored Mansfield’s two goals, both unassisted. Her first goal was scored eight minutes into the game when she crossed a kick from the right hand side of the box into the deep left corner. Heller she scored her second goal at the 32:59 mark of the second period off a breakaway. Heller now leads the Mountie offense in scoring with 4 goals in the season. 

The Mountaineers forced the action all during the game with 19 shots to Bloomfield's nine.

Sophomore goalie Julie Miller (Watkins Glen,NY/Watkins Glen) stopped all five shots she faced in goal for her second shutout of the season.

The Mountaineers’ record improves to 4-8-2, 2-7-0. The next game for Mansfield is October 25^th when they travel to Edinboro University for a noon game time.
