FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties battle Bloomsburg to scoreless tie in 2OT

BLOOMSBURG – Freshman Alexis Wilhelm held Bloomsburg scoreless over 110 minutes in her first collegiate start and Mansfield outshot the Huskies before settling for 0-0 tie in double-overtime in a PSAC East contest Tuesday night.

In an intense battle, Mansfield outshot Bloomsburg 9-3 including 2-0 in overtime but couldn’t get the ball in the net.

The freshmen front line of Cortney Spertzel and Erika Moyer combined for seven shots and Wilhelm was credited with three saves.

Mansfield moves to 2-2-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the PSAC East. The Mountaineers travel to West Chester on Saturday.
