FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Women's Soccer Finishes Preseason In Scrimmage Play With Wilkes

The Mansfield University women’s soccer team ended their 2008 preseason training camp today with a scrimmage against Wilkes University. Being a scrimmage, there was no official score kept. Though there was however, official referees for the event.

The young Mountaineer team played the scrimmage with it being a warm day as a final tuning experience. This also means it is the last chance for the Mountaineers to work out their chemistry as a team with all the new incoming freshman and new transfer students before the 2008 season starts.

With having 11 incoming freshman and two transfer students on the roster, the new team of 22 will start the season off with classes starting on Monday. Then the team will have its first official test of their newfound chemistry on August 28 at Goldey Beacom College in Delaware. Game time is at 3pm.

Mansfield’s first home game is on September 3 against Bloomsburg University.
