RELEASE DATE: 9/09/08 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mounties drop 3-2 decision at Millersville despite two goals by Lyndi Keiser -- All-time leading scorer gets 25th career goal
Millersville -- Lyndi Keiser scored the game's first goal and the last but it would be enough as Mansfield dropped a 3-2 decision at Millersville in a PSAC East game Tuesday night. After a scoreless first half, Keiser took a crossing pass from freshman Natalie Adams and put it into the net in the 54th minute. It was the 25th career goal for the Mountaineers all-time leading scorer. Millersville came right back and tied the game less than a minute later on a goal by Kate Moeller and added another goal goal when Sarah Cameron scored in the 61st minute. Kayla Hartley scored what would prove to be the winning goal in the 75th minute. Keiser got Mansfield back into the game a little over a minute later with her third goal of the season to close the gap to 3-2. Despite the monsoon conditions, Mansfield had the game's final two opportunities to score with Keiser getting another shot on goal and Adams getting a shot off in the final minute of the game.
