RELEASE DATE: 11/1/08 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Natalie Adams named to All-PSAC East 1st Team honors – Lyndi Keiser named to 2nd Team honors fourth straight year MANSFIELD – History was made today when freshman Natalie Adams (Wilkes-Barre/Holy Redmeer) became the first women’s soccer player in school history to earn 1st Team All-PSAC East honors and senior Lyndi Keiser (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) become the first player in the program's history to earn All-PSAC honors in each of her four years of competition. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference All-Conference women’s soccer teams were released today by the conference office and selected by voting of the head coaches in each division. "It's a great, and well deserved accomplishment for both of them," said head coach Tim Dempsey. "I'm proud of them." Adams was one of four players in the conference named to 1st team honors at midfield. A starter in all 17 games this season, Adams led the Mountaineers in points (14) and goals (6) while adding two assists. She becomes the first player in the program’s history to earn 1st Team honors.
Keiser became the only player since Mansfield started its PSAC women’s soccer program in 2003 to earn all-conference recognition all four season and was a second team selection at forward this year. Keiser was second on the team in both points (12) and goals (5) this season while tying Adams with a team-best two assists. Keiser holds every school career scoring records including points (62), goals (27) and assists (8).
