Release Date: 9/11/07 For Immediate Release: Mansfield Soccer ranked 8th in Northeast Region in this week’s NSCAA/adidas Regional Rankings Mansfield – The Mansfield University women’s soccer team reached an historical milestone today when it was ranked #8 in the Northeast Region in the NSCAA/adidas Regional polls. It marks the first time the program has broken into the regional rankings. “There is a sense of accomplishment,” said Tim Dempsey who has served at the Mountaineers head coach for all six seasons of its existence. “Mansfield competes in a very tough region as well as in the highly competitive PSAC. We’re the smallest school in the conference that plays women’s soccer so this is a huge accomplishment for our players.” The team is 2-1-1 on the season, winning its last two games against Kutztown, ranked #10 in the region, and Millersville. The team hosts Clarion on Wednesday in a PSAC game at the Soccer field at 4 p.m. before hosting the region’s #1 ranked team Slippery Rock on Saturday. NSCAA/adidas Northeast Regional Poll
