FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield’s Anita Valerio Named PSAC East Women’s Soccer Player of the Week – Junior scores three goals in undefeated week for Mounties

MANSFIELD – Mansfield University midfielder Anita Valerio (Manalapan,NJ/Manalapan) has been named the PSAC East Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for her outstanding performance during an undefeated week for the Mountaineers.

Valerio scored all three of Mansfield’s goals during the week, including two in a come from behind 2-1 win over Lock Haven. She also scored a goal in a 1-0 tie with Bloomsburg and just missed on an overtime goal attempt in a 0-0 tie at Kutztown.

Valerio ranks third on the team in scoring with four goals and two assists.

Mansfield, which is 4-3-2 over the past nine games, travels to East Stroudsburg for a key game Wednesday.
