MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY SOCCER DROPS 3-1 CONTEST TO SHIPPENSBURG

Mansfield University’s Colleen Corcoran scored a goal in the closing minute of the first half, but the visiting Mountaineers dropped a 3-1 decision to Shippensburg Tuesday evening.

Shippensburg’s Nikki Kegerreis scored an unassisted goal in the 18^th minute as the Red Raiders took the 1-0 lead.

Mansfield responded less than a minute before halftime. In the 44^th minute, Corcoran scored on an assist from freshman Lyndi Keiser, who is tied for the school record for most goals in a season.

The Red Raiders did not take long to respond. In the 46^th minute, Liz Wishard scored an unassisted goal for Shippensburg. Kegerreis would score again in the 70^th minute on an assist from Melissa Kellogg.

Shippensburg led the Mountaineers in shots on goal by a margin of 13-7.

Defensively for Mansfield, goal keeper Julie Miller recorded two saves in the game.

Next up for Mansfield is another road game at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.
