9/24/05 The Warriors’ Jamie Lombardo nailed an unassisted header with less than ten minutes left to finish off a defensive struggle. The Mountaineers and East Stroudsburg combined for just 12 shots on goal, with Mansfield taking four of them. “We played well defensively, but we just need to get better,” said Mansfield head coach Tim Dempsey. “We need to start playing better against the better teams in the league.” The Mountaineers started off the scoring on an unassisted goal off a breakaway by Lyndi Keiser. Her shot in the 22nd minute went high over the goalie’s head and into the net. East Stroudsburg responded
with a goal by Ashley Becker on an assist from Allison Diange in the 43rd
minute to tie the score just before the half. Julie Miller recorded four
saves for the Mountaineers. Stroudsburg improves to
4-4-2 overall and 2-2-2 in conference play. Mansfield has an open date before
