RELEASE DATE: 11/08/05 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Desiree Boris, Colleen Corcoran and Lyndi Keiser Named to All-PSAC East Women’s Soccer Team Honors MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University women’s soccer team capped off a record breaking season on the field by having a record setting three players selected to All-PSAC East honors. Desiree Boris (Wilkes-Barre/Coughlin), a repeat selection from last year, was joined by Colleen Corcoran (Allentown/Central Catholic) and Lyndi Keiser (Mechanicsburg/Mechanicsburg) on the Second Team. The All-PSAC East teams were selected by the conference head coaches and released today.
A junior, Boris becomes the first player in Mansfield women’s soccer history to became a repeat All-PSAC East selection. Boris, a tenuous protector and co-captain this year, started all 18 games at defender. Behind forwards Corcoran and Keiser, the Mountaineers boasted the most improved offense in the PSAC, finishing in the top five teams in the conference in goals and scoring.
Corcoran, a sophomore, ranked seventh in the PSAC in points (18) and goals (8). Keiser set new MU records in both goals (9) and points (22). She finished third in the PSAC in goals per game and fourth in points per game.
The Mountaineer posted a remarkable 8-7-3 record this season in just their fourth year of existence.
