FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIE SOCCER DROPS 1-0 DECISION AT EDINBORO

EDINBORO – Playing in a pouring rain, the Mansfield University women’s soccer team suffered a 1-0 setback in a PSAC match at Edinboro University Wednesday afternoon.

The two teams battled to a 0-0 deadlock at halftime before Edinboro scored the games only goal on a rebound from 10 yards out by Shauna Wolf.

The Mountaineer offense, which has been saddled by early season injuries, managed just three shots on goal to Edinboro’s 17.

Julie Miller played well in the goal, recording eight saves.

Mansfield falls to 2-2 on the season while Edinboro, the ninth ranked team in the region, improves to 2-1-1.

The Mountaineers will host Bloomsburg on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
