FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MOUNTIES FALL TO MILLERSVILLE IN 2004 WOMEN’S SOCCER FINALE

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University women’s soccer team played aggressively, but couldn’t get untracked offensively in a season ending 2-0 setback to Millersville Tuesday afternoon.

Millersville (10-5-1, 7-3-1) got a first period goal from Venessa Robtison and another in the second period by Kelly Fitzgerald.

The Mountaineers Julie Miller had an outstanding game in goal, stopping nine shots including a number of diving saves. Anita Valerio had two of Mansfield’s seven shots on the day.

Nina Lucero was honored prior to game as the Mountaineers sole graduating senior. Her shot in the 76^th minute was one of the Mountaineers better scoring opportunities.

The Mountaineers end the season with 2-13-2 mark.
