FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Mansfield Women’s Basketball Team Helps Mansfield Food Pantry

MANSFIELD – The Mansfield University athletic department and the women’s basketball team recently made a donation of $276 and three boxes of non-perishable canned goods to the Mansfield Food Pantry.

“We’re pleased we can offer assistance to people in need,” said Director of Athletics Roger Maisner. “Our coaches believe their programs are active parts of our community and as such have a responsibility to help make it a better place for all of us.”

The money was raised from admission and game program sales at the Mountaineers first home games of the season. Fans could also donated canned goods for admission to the games.

The Mountaineer women’s soccer and field hockey teams also sponsored fund raisers for the Food Shelf this year.
