Alison Tagliaferri scored
16 points and Jessica Pfeiffer scored 15 points in Mansfield’s 77-64 loss to Central Arkansas
in the Walt Disney
Tip-Off Classic Saturday afternoon.
Central Arkansas
started the game on an
11-2 run to take the early lead; however Mansfield
would cut the lead to
34-33 on a jump shot by Alison Tagliaferri (Linden/Jersey Shore) with less than two
minutes to play in the first half. Tagliaferri
scored a team high 16 points.
Mansfield
trailed 43-37 entering
half time. In the second half the
Mountaineers tied the game at 51-51 when Jessica Pfeiffer (Erie/Seneca) hit a three point shot. Pfeiffer finished the game with 15 points.
The Mountaineers took a 56-55 lead with 12:08
to play on a Christine Ross (Harrisburg/Central
Dauphin) jumper. However, Mansfield’s lead vanished as Central Arkansas
went on an 11-0 run to
take a 66-56 lead and went on in defeating Mansfield
77-64.
